Upcoming Virtual YOLO event

by | Sep 28, 2021 | Announcement | 0 comments

The following message is sent on behalf of Jordyn Sinkie (Health Promotion Facilitator, Youth Substance Use Services)

We’re excited to let you know you about an upcoming virtual SHARE event for parents and caregivers of adolescent youth. YOLO (Youth Offering Listening Opportunities) is an event where adults listen to youth speak about their life experiences in order to support parents/caregivers understanding of their own youth as well as youth in general.

Some topics that will be discussed include:

  • How can I talk with my youth about substances?
  • How come youth use substances?
  • How can I improve communication with my youth?
  • What new strategies can I use in parenting my youth?

This event will be held on Zoom on October 20th from 6:30-8:30. Participants will require a device (computer, tablet or android/iPhone) on which they can access Zoom – if there are concerns regarding tech… have no fear! We can walk each person through this to ensure they can participate.

RSVP to Sabrina Hayward (604.365.0636) or sabrina.hayward@sharesociety.ca by October 10th, 2021.
Zoom details to be provided once you RSVP.
